After he passed away, the family of James Dornan Barnes (Jimmy) discovered a cassette of him singing a number of songs. The family have asked me (via Tees Music Alliance) to posthumously orchestrate the recordings. You can imagine the value the family place upon this so it’s quite an honour to be doing it. The video below takes you through the early stages of digitising the audio file, cleaning it up and enhancing it. I’ve already begun stage 2 which is to manipulate the vocal onto a guide keyboard track. Next, I’ll bring in a professional keyboard player to get a really good performance and then I’ll add some other instruments and snazzy it all up. Watch out for Episode 2 of “Digitising Jimmy”.
